As someone who was around for the original earth day, we walked to school instead of riding the bus. Upon our arrival at school, a recent transfer from the local “grown your own art” school explained to us poor public school idiots that our show of walking was in vain, since the school bus ran anyway. That was the last time I celebrated earth day.
